Cambodian Government Confirms Students Safe in Israel

ISRAEL: A spokesperson for the Royal Government of Cambodia said that Cambodia has received word from the Israeli government that the Israeli army has taken full control of the situation around Gaza, with no terrorists present to break through the border into Israeli territory. The spokesperson said the Israeli army was well-prepared to defend in all arenas by air and land.

Cambodian students claimed that the situation had calmed down and that they were safe and had enough food. The Cambodian government continues to closely monitor the well-being of the over 400 Cambodian students in Israel, and has an active working group of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Education and Agriculture committed to intervening as needed.

The Cambodian government urges all students in Israel to obey the instructions of the local authorities for their safety and to ask the families in Cambodia to remain calm as the Royal Government, headed by Prime Minister Hun Manet, considers the safety of all Cambodian students as the highest priority.

So far, one Cambodian student has been confirmed killed as the death toll rises for both Israelis and Palestinians, most of whom are civilians caught in the crossfire of a decades-long conflict that erupted in a surprise attack from Palestinian militant group Hamas on October 7.
